Eating disorders are a complex mix of physical as well as psychological disorders that affect the overall diet of the individual. These disorders can range from overeating to excessive dieting which affects the general health of the individual. Among the eating disorders, Bulimia and Anorexia nervosa feature as the prominent eating disorders that affect the diet of the individual. However, eating disorder treatment enables individuals to cope with various disorders.
Types of eating disorders
There are many types of eating disorders amongst which Bulimia and Anorexia nervosa are the prominent types of disorders. Other types include:

Moreover, hormonal and neurotransmitter deficiencies in the body also lead to these abnormal eating disorders. Anorexia nervosa is prominently featured as a psychological disorder where the individual wants to get slim using drastic measures such as vomiting after eating, starvation dieting and consuming food items that don not give the body enough nutrients. However in the case of Bulimia individuals are said to be suffering from brain disorders where the individual may suffer brain damage in the hypothalamus which may lead the person to overeat thus creating an obsession of food within the individual. Treatment of food disorders Eating disorder treatment can be done through medications and counseling which enables individuals to monitor their behavior. The types of treatment can be seen as following:- - Counseling: By consulting a therapist individuals can monitor their behavior regarding the obsession of their food habits which can be improved through counseling sessions. In the case of Anorexia nervosa, the therapist advises the patient to realize the importance of the self not in terms of the ways he or she would look but in terms of eating the right diet of the food. If any causes of depression are found they should be treated effectively. - Medication: If the disorder is due to certain physical damage that is sustained on the brain specially the hypothalamus, then the physician will prescribe certain medications so as to inhibit the control of the brain in terms of the eating disorders. Eating disorder treatment in terms of medication can improve the overall metabolism of the body by enabling glands to secrete certain hormones and neurotransmitters which will enable the individual to eat less. Therefore, eating disorder treatment can be done through counseling or medical techniques that enables the body to maintain the nutrition level and provide an alternative out of these disorders.
